Dr. Lawlor graduated from Dalhousie University and is a fellow with the International College of Oral Implantologists. He is proud to be named among America’s Top Dentists in 2016, 2017 and 2018 and to bring his expertise in family and cosmetic dental services to his home state of Maine.
Before becoming a dentist, Dr. Lawlor served in the military and spent over ten years in the Air Force as an avionics specialist and then dental director. During his military tenure, he served overseas on two deployments and received numerous awards including Airman of the Year. Dr. Lawlor continues to serve by providing free dental care to kids and families on service trips to Guatemala.
At Maine Dentistry, Dr. Lawlor has established a unique approach focused on comfort, quality, and no judgment experiences. Dr. Lawlor knew he wanted to become a dentist since he was a kid, and wants everyone to love their dental experiences as much as he did growing up. When he isn’t working on happy smiles, he can be found hiking Cadillac mountain, white water rafting, kiteboarding, or skiing.
Dr. Katie Clark was born and raised in Maine. She attended the University of Maine, graduating at the top of her class with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Following graduation, Dr. Clark went on to earn her D.M.D. degree from the University of New England.
Becoming a dentist has been Dr. Clark’s dream career since she saw a change in her own smile through orthodontics during her early teen years. Katie recalls being self-conscious of her smile growing up and enjoyed going to her dental appointments with the knowledge she was one step closer to a beautiful smile. Although Dr. Clark was only 15 years old at the time, she knew helping others confidence in their own smiles was her calling, and she is proud to realize her lifelong goal as a certified dentist.
Dr. Clark is dedicated to researching modern dental trends to provide the best, individualized care to her patients. Dentistry is not just a career, but a passion for Dr. Clark with a focus on providing a comfortable experience for patients who want to achieve their dream smile.
In her free time, Dr. Clark enjoys playing with her dog Boomer, trying new restaurants in Portland, and trying new recipes in the kitchen (suggestions are always welcome). An avid lover of all Maine’s seasons, her summer activities find her enjoying time by the water and in winter, snowmobiling with her family or attempting to ski.
Chelsea began her dental career at age 15, where she was trained as a dental assistant. She graduated college with a Bachelor’s of Dental Hygiene from the University of New England, earning an additional license to administer Local Anesthesia. She immediately went to graduate school to obtain her Master’s Degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Bridgeport, CT.
She has had extensive continuing education over the years, including Invisalign training, an advanced clinical certificate from the J.P. Institute of Technology, and a dental hygiene laser certification. She has attended multiple conferences at the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) to further develop an understanding of aesthetics as well as courses in Dental Sleep Medicine. She is also continually training with the newest technology as a clinical dental hygiene professor at the University of New England. Not only is she invested in your dental health, but she is eager to hear your goals and explore the possibilities of achieving your dream smile!
Outside of the office, Chelsea enjoys the outdoors and the beautiful state of Maine. She is very active and plays in different sports leagues in the area. She loves spending time with family, friends and her puppy.
Sara is originally from Phoenix, Arizona and moved to Virginia with her husband after following their leave from the Navy. She currently lives in Saco with their two cats, two dogs and (almost) two year old child
She graduated UNE 2021. She focuses on making the patient feel comfortable while in her dental chair and listens without judgment to any dental concerns they may have. She stresses the importance of regular visits, and that Maine Dentistry is here to provide help reaching their dental goals.
She loves to volunteer, and would love to work with veterans. At home, Sara enjoys walks with the dogs, grilling, and relaxing around the fire pit. She and her family love to travel any chance they get, and try new food wherever they go.

Yes, we offer comfortable, discreet Invisalign clear plastic aligners to straighten teeth, the comfortable alternative to traditional metal braces. The aligners move your teeth incrementally over time into straighter positions. The aligners are changed every week or two, and each time you place a new aligner in your mouth, your teeth are a little straighter. Each subsequent tray is shaped for teeth marginally straighter than your teeth when you first start wearing that aligner, causing a gentle pressure on your teeth, moving them to match up with the aligner gradually.
Jaw pain is often one sign of temporomandibular joint syndrome or TMJ, which causes pain in your jaw muscles and joints. The TMJ in the front of your head connects the lower jaw to the rest of the head, so that whenever you open or close your mouth, the joints are working – like a sliding hinge would work.
But if you’re experiencing TMJ pain, opening and closing your mouth can hurt. In fact, TMJ can cause additional disruptions to your health, from interrupted sleep to migraines, and difficulty with your regular daily activities, too. But we can offer a diagnosis and treatment to relieve painful jaw discomfort from jaw exercises to appliances, whatever suits your particular situation.
